Kathie Norwood to lead the financial growth of nonprofit, Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries
[STONINGTON, ME, October 19, 2018] – Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries (MCCF) announces the hiring of Kathie Norwood as Development Director. In her role, Norwood is responsible for donor relations, fundraising, grant writing, and revenue planning for the organization.
“We are thrilled to have Kathie join our team,” said Paul Anderson, MCCF’s Executive Director. “Kathie brings strong skills to the organization and familiarity with the Eastern Maine communities that we work with. As a nonprofit, we depend on donations and support from a wide range of individuals and foundations, and Kathie is highly skilled in that type of fundraising.”
Norwood joins MCCF from Northern Light Health, where she served as Associate Vice President of Philanthropy Operations. During that time, she improved access to healthcare for the under-served in Hancock and Washington Counties, participated in collaborative teams to support communities, and identified efficiencies and process improvements to reduce costs and provide better service to customers.
“I am excited to work directly with the many donors and foundations whose financial support makes the work of Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries possible,” said Norwood. “I look forward to supporting the team, telling the stories of their great work. I’m most eager to shift my focus to that of MCCF’s, the goal of a diverse, adaptable, and local fishing industry in my home state of Maine.”
Norwood has over 28 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector with administration, finance, grants management, and development experience. Norwood holds a degree in Public Accounting from Husson College. She joined the MCCF team on September 24, 2018.
