Three-week drive kicks off as part of global #GivingTuesday movement
November 27, 2017, STONINGTON, ME – Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries (MCCF) has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. This year’s #GivingTuesday took place on Tuesday, November 28. The date kicks off the holiday giving season, inspiring people to collaborate in improving their local communities.
As part of the movement, from November 28 until December 19, MCCF will be collecting donations for the Island Pantry. Members of the community are encouraged to bring items to the MCCF office in downtown Stonington – located at 13 Atlantic Avenue, behind Stonecutters Kitchen. Drop-offs are welcome during standard business hours, Monday – Friday.
