Discovery Wharf at Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries is Expanding

Great experience

"We just happened to stumble across this place while checking out the docks. We are so happy we went !! We learned so much & really enjoyed Leroy's company. It was super cool to see a BLUE lobster that I didn't even know existed."

A Treasure to Experience

"What is billed as a science and education center proved that and much more as we were hosted by lobsterman Mr. Leroy Weed. He has been fishing for the last 70 years! He entertained and educated our family with lessons from his many years on the sea - about living, love, family and community. As I think back over our week in Maine, our visit to Discovery Wharf sharing time together with Leroy was a highlight"

Best people ever!

"Leroy was the best!... He showed us clams, crabs, different fish and one male and one female lobster. He taught our daughter how to hold a lobster too. He showed us how a lobster trap works, and shared a lot of information about lobstering including what is being done to ensure to keep lobsters around for future generations...if you decide to go, I suggest that you to make a donation to this wonderful non-profit."
