Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries Discovery Wharf

In the heart of Stonington harbor, Maine’s most active lobstering port, fisheries come alive at 13 Atlantic Avenue at our Discovery Wharf. From local school age children to visitors from afar and near, from California to Australia to Stonington, we offer a get-your-hands-wet opportunity to engage and learn about local fisheries and the Gulf of Maine ecosystem.

The Discovery Wharf at 13 Atlantic Ave, Stonington, ME 04681 is open Sunday through Friday from 10am –4pm Memorial Day to Columbus Day and is a stop on the Downeast Fisheries Trail.

Stop in! You can explore our touch tank with live creatures and our innovative interactive touch wall, where you can navigate a map of Eastern Maine. With the whole wall acting like a giant computer screen, explorers of all ages can tap into coastal Maine species, toggle into deeper layers of information and see up close what Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries is working for:  a diverse, abundant and profitable  fishing future for Eastern Maine and beyond.
